DFI Beds at the Ideal Home Show Dublin Oct 2025

DFI Beds at the Ideal Home Show Dublin Oct 2025

Highlights and Takeaways

The PTSB Ideal Home Show Dublin is always a key date in the DFI Beds calendar, and this Autumn’s event at the RDS was full of great conversations, slightly chaotic crowds, and a few lessons learned.

The DFI Beds stand, N38, attracted a steady stream of visitors all weekend, with plenty of interest across our range from statement headboards to handmade Irish mattresses and divan beds. The Snug Chairs were a big draw once again, with people queueing to try them and ten sold across the three days. Bamboo Pillows were another hit. It’s clear there’s strong demand for affordable comfort add-ons like these, and we’ll be making them a big focus again next time.

New Mara Mattress

Our new Mara luxury hybrid mattress with premium natural materials drew lots of interest. The feedback was useful: some visitors felt it was expensive, others thought it was too cheap for a high-end mattress, while others thought the price accurately reflected the quality.

We learned that customers want more detail on why it costs more than our other mattresses; the materials, craftsmanship, sustainability, and performance. We’ll build that into our messaging going forward.

Interestingly, the Mara may have helped boost interest in our Majestic mattress (which used to be our most expensive mattress) as many visitors viewed it as a great-value alternative.

The Mara mattress had its debut at the Ideal Home Show Dublin, Oct 2025.

Value for all customers

DFI Beds might have started out as a discount furniture brand back in its early days, but we’ve grown into something much bigger. It’s a company known for quality, reliability, and real care for customers (check out our Trustpilot reviews).

The interest we’re now seeing in our premium ranges shows that people recognise the quality and trust the DFI name.

We’re no longer just the affordable option; we’re a brand that can proudly hold its own, offering value at every level of the market. That’s something the whole team can be really proud of.

Challenges & Learnings

The weekend wasn’t without its challenges. Our card reader wouldn’t process transactions due to a cross-border issue, and our electric ottoman bed demo couldn’t be powered up for long.

Next time, we’ll bring a backup generator and make other small improvements like a better pillow display and more pre-show sales training, to ensure every product gets the spotlight it deserves.

Snug Chair Giveaway

Our Snug Chair prize draw was a huge success, with over 750 entries in the first day alone. Next time, we’ll move to a QR code entry system to make it faster and easier. We’ll ensure visitors take away follow-up offers and product info too.

Our Managing Director, Brian, held the prize draw on 21st October at our Dungannon showroom. Congratulations to our winner – Ann Kelly!

The power of in-person connection

The crowds at the DFI Beds stand, N38 on Friday.

While sales at the October Ideal Home Show were lower than the April edition, this was expected, and the number of enquiries and follow-on leads suggests strong results still to come.

Key as we move into the busiest time of the year for retail and ecommerce. Importantly, we also left with practical feedback, fresh ideas, and even more appreciation for the power of in-person connection.

These shows are a chance when our whole team; marketing, logistics, drivers, and supply chain managers, all get to chat directly face-to-face with you, the customer, which doesn't happen often enough. It’s one of our favourite things to do.

A huge thanks to everyone who stopped by the stand. It’s your feedback that helps us make every DFI bed, mattress, and Snug Chair even better.
