A divan bed is a bed consisting of two parts: a divan bed base, which is a strong wooden frame structure covered in fabric, and a matching mattress. Typically mounted on castor wheels and often includes storage in the form of drawers.

Divan beds and ottoman beds are similar in the sense that they both come with storage options and are generally available in a wide range of colours, depending on the retailer.

The difference is the format in which the storage is accessed. Divan beds provide storage in the form of 2 to 4 drawers that are built into the base.
